If someone told me that these guys were from New York City, I would've asked how that is possible. Well, it's obviously possible. New York City's very own Ancient Sin is the real fuckin' deal. This is classic death metal in its most primitive form: think Autopsy and Massacre rolled into one insane mold.
The band posted 2 rehearsal tracks up on their MySpace and it shows a very promising future indeed. The tracks do not feature vocals, which I was kinda bummed about, but if anything, they'll probably be great. "Mayhem" Mike and co. surely seem like they know what they're doing.
Speaking of "Mayhem" Mike, you might recognize that name (along with bass player Evan Fishman's) from the now-defunct Savage Skull. It's great that these guys are wasting no time in spreading the brutality.
Watch out for these cats. When they release a proper demo/release, shit is gonna be nuts.
